The Problem:Webbers were required to tap into a 6” cooling water main to supply new machinery.
However, the water main could not be isolated or drained down because the system was constantly in use. Being a long-term client of Ormond hot tapping services, Webbers contacted us to do a under pressure drill on water.
Our solution: Ormond shaped a 4” saddle and welded it on to the 6” water main.
After successfully pressure testing the new connection, Ormond attached the under-pressure drill and began hot tapping the live water main. Once the hot tapping was complete, Ormond installed a safety blank to prevent leaving an open end.
