The problem: Vauxhall required a new boiler house at their Ellesmere Port site.
The project required a mains water supply to service the boilers. To do this, a new branch on the existing 6” water main was required.
Our solution: As leading hot tapping specialists, Ormond Pipework Services were brought in to establish a live connection to the existing water supply.
We attached a hot taping clamp to the water main and then drilled the new 50mm branch.
After hot tapping the mains water, our pipework engineers installed 10m of underground MDPE and left off with a 50mm stop cock.
Once the MDPE installation was complete, a pressure test was completed to ensure the quality and safety of the new pipework.
